Christophe Guida

An internationally renowned performer, Christophe Guida was born in Marseille in 1982. At the age of 11, he joined Annick Chevalier's organ class at the CNR in Marseille where he won the first organ and improvisation prize. He then perfected with Marie Louise Langlais at the CNR of Paris and Olivier Vernet at the Rainier III Academy of Monaco. In parallel, he studied harpsichord and basso continuo with Brigitte Haudebourg. At 22 years old he was appointed titular organist of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Marseille.

In 2009, he recorded as a world premiere the organ works by Mikaël Tariverdiev, distributed by the Hortus label. On this occasion, he is the guest of Gaëlle Le Gallic in the show "Their first cd" on France Musique. This recognition opens an international career in Russia, Germany, Italy (Mondovì Academia Montis Regalis, Rome, Novara ...), Cyprus (Jerusalem Festival), Belgium and Canada. He has recently been heard at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and also on the instruments of Albi, Saint-Malo, Roquevaire, Bordeaux, Tours, Marseille, Fréjus, Monteux, Saint-Maximin Alpe d'Huez, Megève, Embrun, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Saint Etienne de Baïgorry, ...

In Paris, his improvisations and his baroque, romantic and contemporary programs sounded on the organs of Notre-Dame de Paris, the Madeleine, Saint Germain des Pres, Saint Clotilde ...

Christophe Guida works regularly with the choir of Bouches-du-Rhône. Recognized as a privileged interpreter of French music, he frequently interpretes Poulenc's Concerto, Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, the Organ Masses by Léo Delibes and Louis Vierne.

The contemporary composer Tarik Benouarka has dedicated to him his oratorio "The legend of Nere". Christophe has recorded this big work on the great organs of the Sacred Heart of Marseille.

In love with the organ, Christophe Guida strives to make known and "undust" this instrument by associating it with musical genres where you do not necessarily expect it like electro, jazz or pop.

He works close together with the sublime French singer and songwriter Malvina Meinier.
